This paper will focus on the environment problems caused by urbanization in China which had a great speed of urbanization in the past several decades. Since the enforcement of Reform and opening up, the urbanization level in China has kept increasing with many migrant workers swarming into the urban which greatly accelerate the urbanization process. When Chinese people celebrate that the prosperity of urban economy promotes urbanization, they have to face some serious social and environmental problems, including environmental pollution, resource shortage, traffic congestion, and social disorder. It is proved by scholars that urbanization in China has influence on climate(Zhou et al., 2004). But there is also saying that urbanization brings benefits to the environment.
