M&S has enjoyed glorious success throughout its past, however during the later part of 1990s the race of globalization get started and the competitive forces confronted the organization experienced sudden change that in turn resulted in loss of precious market share for the organization (Mellahi et al., 2002). There are different reasons behind the declining market share of the organization, however most of the HR experts are of the opinion that the organization's negligence to assign key role to the firm's HR was one of the major reason. HR has been viewed by different scholar as a mean through which an organization get a competitive advantage which is more consistent and long-lasting than the competitive advantage that a firm could gain through other means (Aush, 2012). This is why in the turn of the current century the HR department within different organizations were assigned key role in such organization. The outdated concept of considering HR as a support functions has now been changed and the HR assumed a central in the success of any business organization.
