Different techniques that could be used by the Yass City Council include depth interview, focus group, projection techniques, and qualitative questionnaires. On the other hand, if Yass City Council wishes to collect solid and hard data for precise measurement and analysis of target concept then the quantitative method serves the best. It could take the form of observation, correlation, developmental, survey, or experiment. According the two most used techniques are the focus group when researcher is confronted with social problems and qualitative research and the questionnaire when the researcher is confronted with the collection of hard numerical data and precise measurements (McGivern, 2008).
